The Saudi Film Festival highlights desert cinema in an interactive artwork inspired by the Tuwaiq mountains, in addition to a book that will be soon published titled Cinema, the Desert and its Guide. It is going to include a lot of research, articles, and studies.
There were also three desert-themed seminars presented on desert literature, poems, culture and films that were shot in deserts.
The festival was held at the state-of-the-art King Abdul Aziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) and featured 57 films, 36 of which were produced by Saudi filmmakers and 21 from across the GCC.
