A Saudi Startup Develops Kingdom’s First COVID-19 Test Kit And They’ll Be Available All Over The Country
Up and until now COVID-19 test kits were imported from abroad. This new test kit developed in Saudi is now going to change that.
King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) startup NoorDX has developed the country’s first COVID-19 RT-PCR test kit according to the Arab News.
It is bound to be much more economical too when compared to those imported abroad.
Considering the fact that the kingdom tests somewhere between 75,000 and 110,000 a day, this is a major win for bioscience startups in the country.
As of now the service will be available at KAUST and will eventually spread to all of the Kingdom.
Results will be delivered by QR code within 24 hours, with the majority of results arriving within 12 hours. By paying premium results can be given in as little as five hours.
