Hajj is nearly here and millions (yes, really) pilgrims are already gathering in the Holy city of Makkah. Every year the Saudi authorities work on improving the process and facilities available for pilgrims and this year too has been seeing some great initatives.
A project called the “Green Haj Camp” is being applied to more than 30 camps in Mina (the tent town outside Makkah where pilgrims stay for 3-5 days).
Part of this project will also include more sustainable waste management processes.
According to Gulf News, a workshop will be held in the coming days with agencies concerned in order to draw up an executive plan for implementing the project in camps in Mina.
