A Syrian woman has given birth to quadruplets in the holy city of Makkah, during Hajj.
The 23-year-old was 34-weeks pregnant at the time and underwent a Caesarean operation.
She gave birth to two baby boys and two girls. Two of the newborns are in good and stable condition while the two others suffer from a minor respiratory problem.
The two are under observation and put on ventilation machines as they receive intravenous feeding.
In total, hospitals in Makkah and the holy places in Mina and Arafat recorded eight births while the Hajj pilgrimage was in progress, the Ministry of Health reported.
Some 2.4 million Muslims performed this year’s Hajj
