The Saudi High-Speed Train Has Now Resumed Operation

Avatar

Saudi Arabia’s high-speed rail service is now operating again after a two-month halt.

The service was temporarily stopped after a station in Jeddah caught fire

The train service began operating again on Wednesday after an official inspection of equipment and passenger facilities was completed. The inspection was overseen by the General Authority of Civil Aviation in cooperation with the operators of the Haramain rain transport system.

The service connects Makkah and Madina via Jeddah and was launched last year.

As of now, the resumed service is operating from the New King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah to Madina.

Work is still underway to restore operations at the station that caught fire on September 29. Journeys between Makkah and Madina are expected to resume next week.
