This Syrian Artist’s Miniatures Of Historic Jeddah Are The Best Thing You’ll See All Day

Avatar

Historic Jeddah is utterly beautiful and historical and cultural significance has got it listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the years its narrow lanes and distinct architecture have enchanted thousands. One Syrian artist seems to have outright fallen in love with the place and Hijazi architecture in general that his whole artwork revolves around it.

Abdulrahman Eid is a 22-year-old artist who has lived much of his life in Jeddah

Before moving to Saudi, Eid was involved in renovating and restoring historic buildings

But he became famous for his stunning miniatures of old Jeddah

They look super realistic

Here’s a scale model of the city’s iconic rawasheen (wooden windows)

He’s even managed to create a miniature version of historic Ottoman-inspired tile work
