The Two Holy Mosques Affairs Authority has appointed 10 women in leadership positions in the Presidency of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Makkah and Madinah.
Appointing women to senior leadership positions in religious institutions is another step in empowering women and enhancing their role and position, which is one of the most important items of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
The authority said, in a statement published on its official website, that the decision comes from the presidency of the Two Holy Mosques’ keenness to keep pace with the Kingdom’s vision 2030 “and to empower Saudi women with high qualifications and great capabilities, in order to achieve the aspirations of the rulers of the matter in providing the best services to the guests of Rahman.” ??
The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques stated that “ten qualified women have been appointed to the presidency in senior leadership positions, in an effort to improve the level of work in the presidency and as an investment for qualified national cadres.” The commission indicated that its president, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, had directed the establishment of a number of women’s assistance agencies and the restructuring of a number of public departments concerned with women’s affairs in the administration of the Two Holy Mosques, and its agency for the affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque.
