Saudi Arabia’s mining sector is celebrating a monumental achievement as Almasane Alkobra Mining Company (AMAK) announces a potentially game-changing discovery in the Najran region!
The company has uncovered economically promising deposits of copper, zinc, gold, and silver marking a significant milestone for the Kingdom’s growing mining industry!
Exploration kicked off immediately after AMAK received the license in September 2024, with a comprehensive drilling program beginning in February 2025.
Since then, the company has drilled over 27,000 meters, and preliminary studies suggest a mineral resource of nearly 11 million tonnes… and that’s just from less than 10% of the license area!

In 2026, additional geophysical surveys and drilling programs are planned to expand resource estimates, with a maiden mineral resource report expected in the second half of the year. Simultaneously, concept development studies are underway to transition the exploration license into a full mining license, a step that could transform Najran into a major mining hub.
