A Beautiful Gesture: Saudi Volunteers Are Handing Out Iftar For People On The Roads During Sunset

Hera Shabbir

Ramadan is all about giving and this is exactly what these volunteers are doing all over the city for fasting travelers on the road

This campaign, called ‘The Happiness of Our People’, is set in place for drivers who are fasting and struggle to make it home by Iftar, causing them to rush. The timeliness of opening one’s fast falls between the window of sunset, which is also the peak evening traffic time.

This initiative was set in place to help drivers have their Iftar meals within their vehicles, allowing them to drive home calmly and safely

The volunteers hand out around 600 boxes per day in cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, and aim to achieve 18,000 meals during the blessed month of Ramadan. Volunteers also expressed gratitude to partake in such a significant movement, and hope to achieve more milestones in the future.
