The Muslim and Arab world has chosen to boycott Indian products after defamatory remarks about the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) were made by an official in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

The remarks were made by the party’s spokesperson, Nupur Sharma on a televised debate a few days ago. Saudi Arabia has STRONGLY condemned these remarks and called for respect for beliefs and religions. In protest of these remarks, they have chosen to boycott all Indian products, along with other nations choosing to terminate all methods of profit to the country.

Qatar and Kuwait also reacted to these comments, demanding an apology for the Islamophobic remarks

The topic has been trending on Twitter for hours as over 700,000 people have tweeted about the incident. Pictures of Indian leaders on trash cans have been circualting in Kuwait as the Muslim community expresses outrage. #BoycottIndianProducts and #الا_رسول_الله_يا_مودي have both been gathering all Muslims together on Twitter to express their outrage and disapproval of these actions. Insults towards the Islamic religion and blasphemy are both HIGHLY condemned in Saudi Arabia and are a punishable offense.
