A Former Formula 1 World Champion Is Surprised By How Late Jeddawis Stay Awake And He Even Shared A Video To Prove His Point
Former British racing driver, Damon Hill, who won the Formula One World Championship in 1996 was recently in Jeddah to cover the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. He clearly was surprised by how late we stay awake over here.
“Jeddah is somewhat nocturnal,” he captioned a video from his hotel room in Jeddah. “It is 4 a.m. What are these folks doing…”

But the video he posted first was one from 12 AM, so he then posted the actual 4 AM one and yes there was still traffic by our corniche. He does, however, mention in his tweet that he found everyone he met here to be very friendly.
Just realised I posted the one from 12:30. This is the one from 4am. BTW, all the people I have met in Saudi have been very friendly. Can you judge a country by a visit to a GP? Maybe not. But I like to believe people are people wherever you go. #f1 #SaudiArabianGP https://t.co/zJVRXLuQwu pic.twitter.com/JqxqMjI2NL
