What a great way to start the new year! Matteo’s journey of ‘Athar – East to West’ will run on until January 17, as the professor reaches back to home base at KAUST. The journey itself will cover ground across cities like Qassim, Hail, AlUla, Red Sea Global, Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah, and finally KAUST.

The professor chose to take on the challenge to create awareness about people with such disabilities

As reported by Arab News, Matteo contacted the Authority for People with Disabilities to help him with his lengthy journey. The professor told Arab News, “The APD was the first government agency I contacted to inquire about their interest in helping me with my journey. They have been supportive from the beginning, and today they had this lovely occasion. It’s the end of that portion of the journey, in my opinion, but this is just the start of something much, much, much bigger.”
