A Saudi Adventurer Trekked The Prophet’s 500-Kilometre Hijra Journey from Makkah to Madinah

Avatar

As the sixth Saudi to conquer Mount Everest, Badr Al-Shaibani is no stranger to adventure and remarkable achievements.

He recently went on an epic trek tracing the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who migrated from Makkah to Madinah.

Badr Al-Shaibani dons many hats—he’s an athlete, adventurer, and entrepreneur—but his recent trek may have been one of his most difficult life adventures, walking through the harsh desert of the Hejaz for 12 days. Yes, 12 days, because that’s how long it took him to complete the 500-km trek.

Coincidentally, he also passed through 12 significant spots on the journey, including Cave Thawr, where the prophet once sought refuge.

The journey, which took five years of planning, was aimed at highlighting a historic pilgrimage that changed the course of history.

Al-Shaibani is working with relevant authorities to mark and document the migration route and train individuals to travel the historic path.

Now that Al-Shaibani has documented the whole journey, you can expect many more in the coming days to go on the “Hijra” trek.
