Who said you have to get an education at a certain age? This studious Saudi resident actually pursued her dreams at the age of 70!

Salwa Al Omani got her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam

According to Arab News, Salwa had put her education on halt around fifty years ago, after her family had moved to Basra, Iraq. She was accepted into the University of Basra to major in chemistry but was unable to pursue her education there due to personal family reasons. However, now she’s back and finally did it!

It wasn’t an easy journey as Salwa had to re-start her education from secondary school!

Salwa stated that because her education had not been approved, she had to complete her schooling first in order to pursue her Bachelor’s at university. She started from second grade, and sat for an exam that lead her to obtain a third intermediate grade certificate. Her journey has inspired many around the Kingdom to show that education is essential for all residents in the Kingdom, and if put on halt should be picked up right where you left off!
