Camels And Cattle Swept Away As Umrah Pilgrims Brave Makkah Floods

As torrential rains drenched Makkah, the city experienced severe flooding, particularly in its valleys

A red alert for heavy rainfall, dust storms, and thunder had been in place for days, with the Civil Defense closely monitoring the situation. A video posted by Storm Centre showed the devastating impact, with camels, cattle, and various materials being swept away by flash floods in Al-Jumum, a valley in Makkah.

Despite the harsh weather, pilgrims continued to perform Umrah around the Holy Kaaba

They endured heavy showers and strong winds. The determination of these pilgrims highlighted their devotion, even as the floodwaters surged through the city. Meanwhile, the heavy rainfall led to overflowing water on roads, creating hazardous conditions for motorists.

Similar weather conditions hit different parts of the Gulf

Similar weather conditions were observed in Oman, where heavy rains and thunderstorms also caused significant disruption. These extreme weather events underscore the need for vigilant monitoring and swift action to protect both residents and travelers in the region.
