Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia has started to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to children in the 5-11 age group. However, a recent announcement by the Ministry of Health officials shows that children in this age group will be given only half the dose. Dr. Abdullah Asiri, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Health, stated that “The dose for youngsters will be half that of an adult, and it will be given in two stages.”

Dr. Asiri pointed out that the symptoms of COVID-19 infection in children are usually minor, with just a tiny percentage of them developing serious sickness and requiring hospitalization. According to him, no symptoms have been observed among the youngsters who have got the immunization injection.
