Cross-Dressing Could Lead To A 3-Year Jail Term As Per A New Penal Code
Legal expert Mohammed Al Wahaibi appeared on Saudi TV Al Saudaih and shared the deets on a new penal code that penalized those cross-dressing with a 3-year jail term.
Al Arabiya quotes him as stating “There are very harsh penalties awaiting anyone imitating the other sex in terms of attire, appearance and form.”
He added “Appearing in a dress that violates public decorum and outrages morality may turn into a crime in several cases. The attire that implies imitating women is criminalised under the penal regulations”
The news report, however, doesn’t carry any official comment on this.
