Donia Abu Taleb Makes Saudi Olympic History As First Qualifier For 2024 Games

Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sports  for girls and women is making waves. With a whopping 330,000 registered female athletes, the Kingdom has seen a staggering 195 percent surge in professional female players since 2021! Moreover, female participation in the workforce soared to 36 percent, surpassing the ambitious 30 percent target set under Vision 2030. This means that Saudi is here to take over international headlines in sports, and the ladies are all set!

Donia Abu Talib just made history as the first qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics!

The Saudi Olympic Committee announced the good news on X, about the Taekwondo champion securing her spot for the women’s under 49kg division, at the upcoming international Olympics in Paris, France! Donia also previously won a bronze medal at the Arab Taekwondo Championship Cup in 2022, one of the  athlete’s first achievements, which are hereon set to continue internationally!

The Paris 2024 Olympics will kick off on July 26, 2024

The Kingdom has so far secured a spot to compete for the jumping, equestrian, and taekwondo division at the international competition. This would be the Kingdom’s thirteenth appearance in the summer games.
