Word’s been going around that this month of Ramadan will have 29 days, thus making Eid fall on Friday, April 21st. However, in a new update by the International Astronomical Center (IAC), Eid could be a day later.

The IAC published this statement saying that the exact date of the Eid can only be confirmed once the moon has been sighted. However, the sighting of the crescent might be quite difficult this Thursday due to the weather conditions. Their statement read: “Sighting the crescent next Thursday is not possible with the naked eye from anywhere in the Arab and Islamic worlds. Seeing the crescent on Thursday is not possible with a telescope in most Arab countries, with the exception of parts of West Africa starting from Libya, and therefore Saturday will most probably be the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.”
