More than 150 civilians of different nationalities reached the ports of Jeddah this Saturday. The civilians in Sudan were stuck in an army and parliamentary conflict, and were evacuated by the Saudi naval forces.

The Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry announced the ‘safe arrival’ of 91 nationals, and citizens from then countries of Canada, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Philippines, and Burkina Faso. It also stated that the list included diplomats and international officials. The expats were all welcomed with flowers and smiles at the ports!

Survivors are also struggling to maintain food and shelter during this difficult times. The Kingdom has come in with prompt action, and stated, “The Kingdom worked to provide all the basic needs of foreign nationals in preparation for their departure to their countries.” US President Joe Biden also thanked the Kingdom for its prompt efforts with a statement: “I thank Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia, which were critical to the success of our operation,” he said in a statement on Saturday, calling for a ceasefire to allow “unhindered humanitarian access, and respect the will of the people of Sudan”.
