Famous Saudi Poet Passes Away After Tragic Fall From Jabal Samhan In Oman

The literary world is mourning the loss of Saudi poet Saud bin Maadi Al-Qahtani, whose passing was announced after a tragic fall from Jabal Samhan in the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Oman’s Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, rescue teams rushed to the scene but confirmed that the poet had sustained critical injuries that sadly led to his death

In a statement, the Saudi Embassy in Muscat shared that it is working to finalize the procedures for transporting his body back to the Kingdom, where he will be laid to rest among loved ones. Al-Qahtani was more than a poet, he was a voice that carried emotion, tradition, and beauty, leaving behind verses that touched countless hearts. His passing is not only a loss for his family and friends, but for the entire cultural community that cherished his words.

His passing also sparked safety concerns for the Omani mountain
