First Saudi Woman Joins World Famous Organization To Keep People Flying Smooth!

Saudi women making WAVES yet again!

Maryam Akram became the first Saudi woman to represent her country at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada.

This milestone reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to nurturing national talent, empowering its youth, and ensuring a strong presence in global organizations

Her professional journey began with international experience before she joined the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia. Over five years, she worked in various areas of international cooperation, starting with international relations and eventually managing agreements.

She went on to become Director of the Department of International Organizations and ICAO Affairs

Maryam’s experience at GACA strengthened her belief in the importance of Saudi representation in international organizations, motivating her to join ICAO in 2024. There, she now serves in the Legal Affairs and International Relations Office, proudly representing the Kingdom on the global stage.
