First-Time Pilgrims In Saudi Can Now Take Up To 15 Days Of Paid Hajj Leave!

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that private sector employees performing Hajj for the first time are now entitled to 10 to 15 days of paid leave

This leave includes the Eid Al Adha holiday and is only available once during an employee’s service period.

To qualify, employees must have completed at least two consecutive years with their current employer and must not have performed Hajj previously. This policy aims to support employees’ religious obligations while maintaining balance in workplace operations.

The ministry clarified that while the leave is a right under Saudi labor law, employers still have the discretion to determine how many employees can take Hajj leave each year

This is to ensure that business continuity is not disrupted, particularly in industries with high operational demands.

The announcement comes as the Kingdom prepares for the upcoming Hajj season in early June.

It reflects ongoing efforts to support both workers and employers by embedding flexibility into labor policies without compromising religious commitments.

This thoughtful measure is part of broader reforms that align with Vision 2030’s goal of improving quality of life and promoting inclusive, balanced workforce policies across the Kingdom!
