The third edition of the Red Sea FoodTech Connect (RSFTC) event was hosted in Riyadh by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA)’s Sunbolah Program!

This significant gathering, sponsored by Jahez, attracted hundreds of attendees from Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and beyond.

Notable figures, including HE Eng. Mansour Mushaiti, Vice Minister of MEWA, and Dr. Ali Alsabhan, General Manager of Entrepreneurship MEWA, were present, along with dignitaries from the National Center for Palms and Dates (NCPD), Nadec, Calo, and SALIC, a PIF company.

Influential speakers such as Dr. Mohammed Alnuwairan, CEO of NCPD, and Dr. Sulaiman Altwaijri, CEO of NADEC Food, shared insights on innovation and the value chain within the food tech industry.

Serial entrepreneur Eng. Mohammed AlQurashi, founder of RSFTC, highlighted the event’s success, noting that participants traveled from countries like the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Australia, and France to network, pitch business ideas, and explore growth opportunities.

He emphasized the crucial support and guidance from MEWA, which significantly enhanced the entrepreneurial engagement at the event. The RSFTC provided a platform for business development and showcased the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem supported by the Sunbolah Program.

A standout moment was the headline conversation featuring HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, founder and CEO of KBW Ventures, moderated by Abdulrahman AlJiffry, Partner at 500 Global. Under the theme “Venture Capital View,” Prince Khaled discussed his investments in various technology sectors, particularly food technology and alternative proteins, emphasizing the importance of investing in Saudi Arabia’s ecosystem. He reinforced the notion that while Saudi Arabia offers substantial opportunities, success requires commitment and active participation.

The event, held at The Garage in Riyadh, successfully united decision-makers, innovators, investors, and regulators from the food technology sector, marking a significant milestone in fostering innovation and collaboration.
