Gen Z And Millennial Takeover! Over 70% Of Saudi’s Population Is Under The Age of 35

If you thought Saudi Arabia was all tradition and no trend — think again.

The Kingdom just dropped some pretty cool facts in the Saudi Family Statistics Report 2024…

Here’s the tea: over 70% of the population is under the age of 35!

Yep, you read that right. It’s giving Gen Z nation.

Let’s break it down. The average Saudi is just 26.6 years old, and the median age is even younger at 23.5. So it’s safe to say — this place is buzzing with youthful energy, big dreams, and probably a whole lot of TikTok scrolling.

Families? Full and thriving

The typical Saudi household is definitely bigger than your average roommate setup. Most homes (about 86%) have two or more people, and a whopping 70% are good ol’ nuclear families. Extended families and bigger blends make up around 16%, while only 14% are living the solo life.

And when it comes to head of the household, men still lead the numbers at 83%, but women are making moves too — especially in the 30–34 age range, where they’re stepping into leadership roles at home more than ever.

And where’s everyone living?

Apartments are the top pick — nearly 45% of Saudi households call an apartment home. Villas are also a fave, especially for bigger families, with about 31% opting for more space and a garden view. Flying solo? You’re most likely chilling in an apartment (56%), and probably enjoying the peace.

Oh — and the average household size? Five people, which means family dinners are probably loud, fun, and full of stories.
