The public bus service has been one of the most exciting new additions to Riyadh. Like, come on, a world-class city like Riyadh needed world-class public transport, and now it’s got just that. The service was launched this Wednesday.

If you’ve used the SAPTCO buses in the past, then guess what? Those SAPTCO cards will no longer be valid here. Instead, they’ve been replaced by the Darb cards.

You’ve got swanky vending machines like these to buy those cards from.

Currently, they are available only at a few stops.


But apparently you can still hop on the bus and pay using your debit card on the bus. The price for a ride is still super cheap at just SR4.

If you’re actually seriously thinking of taking a bus, then you definitely have to check out this route map.

If you’ll be hopping on one to reach the office, then guess what? You’ll be breezing through traffic as the buses have their own dedicated tracks across major routes.
