King Salman Pardons 6 Pakistani Citizens

Avatar

Earlier this year during the holy month of Ramadan, six Pakistanis were arrested for “abusing and insulting” two of Pakistan’s federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti. The incident happened in the courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

The Saudi Press Agency reports that the six of those who were arrested have been pardoned by King Salman.

This was reportedly done at the request of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Prime Minister Sharif was in Saudi Arabia earlier this week to attend the Future Investment Initiative (aka Davos in the Desert) that’s taking place in Riyadh.
