Life-Saving Devices Installed In Over 15 Locations At Makkah Grand Mosque

Saudi Arabia takes the safety of every pilgrim seriously, and the latest initiative at the Grand Mosque in Makkah is proof of that! The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has launched the “Whoever Revives It” initiative, placing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in more than 15 locations to ensure quick response to sudden cardiac arrest cases.

An AED is a portable device that can jump-start the heart by delivering an electric shock, giving a person experiencing sudden cardiac arrest a fighting chance

When every second counts, these devices help first responders, whether Red Crescent teams or even trained visitors, perform CPR before ambulances arrive.

Scientific studies show that using AEDs quickly significantly increases survival chances

This is why Red Crescent officials have carefully placed them in key areas like the main courtyards and corridors of the Grand Mosque for easy access. They’re also making sure visitors and workers are trained to use them, turning bystanders into lifesavers!

This initiative is just one of many ways Saudi Arabia ensures top-notch emergency medical care for every visitor. Whether it’s through rapid-response teams, high-tech medical equipment, or continuous safety efforts, the Kingdom is committed to making sure every pilgrim is protected during their sacred journey.

Because at the Grand Mosque, your safety is always a priority, ESPECIALLY during a busy season like Ramadan!
