Missing Saudi Citizen Hattan Shata Found Deceased In Cairo

The Saudi Embassy in Cairo confirmed on Wednesday the sad news that Hattan Shata, a Saudi citizen missing for over a month, has been found dead.

The Saudi Embassy in Cairo reported a DNA sample confirmed Shata’s identity


“We received a report from the Egyptian authorities that a body believed to be Hattan’s had been found. DNA tests confirmed his identity, and there’s no suspicion of foul play,” the embassy stated. They offered heartfelt condolences to Hattan’s family and expressed deep gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for their relentless efforts in solving the mystery of his disappearance.

Hattan’s brother, Hani Shata, shared the devastating news that Hattan had been found deceased. The Egyptian Ministry of Interior confirmed that their search efforts led to the discovery of his body, with investigations indicating no criminal involvement. Hattan’s death was attributed to his poor health conditions.

Earlier reports from Okaz indicated that the body was found on a street and determined to have died naturally. Hattan had left his apartment in the Al-Rehab area, leaving all his belongings behind and losing contact with everyone.
