All the way from picking the dates to packing them in their boxes, ladies do it all at this factory

Let’s go ladies! This factory is Located in Al Ahsa, and was previously run by foreigners. However the owner of the factory soon decided to hire local women, in line with Vision 2030 of incorporating women in the workforce. Fun fact, the Al Ahsa region is home to around 2 million palm trees which produce over 100,000 tonnes of dates each year! That’s enough dates for a lifetime!
The factory is operated by 100 Saudi women with many different roles ranging from management, accounting, quality control and packaging, and nutrition

In total, Saudi Arabia is known to have 157 date factories that produce different types of dates both locally and for export. The Kingdom ranks second in the world, making up for 17% of the world’s dates production.
