Hera Shabbir

Saudi is here to make sure its kids are getting an education, and this rule is a new way to start! The Ministry of Education announced the new rule just a few days ago, regarding parents serving jail time if their kids are skipping school.

If a child is caught skipping school for 20 days without reason, they parents can end up behind bars

Students who are absent for 20 consecutive days in school, will be subject to further investigation. They will firstly be referred to the Public Prosecution, where a judge will decide whether or not the parents were involved. Depending on the final verdict, the parents of the child will then have to spend an appointed time behind bars.
