The warehouses that double up as creative spaces in Riyadh’s JAX District are bustling with energy – the artistic kind. The art lovers’ debates, panel discussions, and modern artworks on exhibit make you want to take up a brush and start painting on a blank canvas — the atmosphere is that contagious.

Art lovers have gathered at the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale to witness what is in a way a celebration of Saudi contemporary art.

A total of 40 works by 27 local artists, as well as works by international artists, are on exhibit.

The pieces here are in a variety of mediums, ranging from paintings to installations to performances.

The who’s who of town were spotted here.

The biennale will run from Dec. 11 to March 11, 2022 and is open daily from 11 AM to 11 PM. Entry is free, you’ll have to pre-book though, which you can do here.
