Riyadh has made significant strides in the International Institute for Management Development Smart City Index, climbing five spots this year and now sitting at the 25th position overall.
This index delves into various aspects like health, mobility, and governance, as detailed in the published report.
In terms of health and safety, the report highlights that proper sanitation measures have been implemented, even in the most economically challenged areas. Additionally, with the extensive CCTV surveillance network, public safety has reached commendable levels!
But it’s not just Riyadh making waves. Al-Khobar has also made its mark by officially cementing its status as a smart city, securing the 99th spot out of 142 municipalities. Now, Al-Khobar joins the ranks of Medina, Mecca, and Jeddah in their pursuit of innovative solutions.
Being part of the smart city index opens doors to more investment opportunities, making these cities attractive to foreign investors. This not only boosts economic growth but also aligns with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes sustainable development.
