As the Kingdom gears up for the joyous celebration of Eid Al-Adha, Riyadh’s public transport is joining the festivities with special holiday schedules designed to keep the city moving smoothly and stress-free.
The Riyadh Metro has officially announced its Eid operating hours, and here’s the headline: all metro lines will run until midnight every night during the holiday period! While end times are unified across the board, start times will vary depending on the line and date.
Orange Line (Line 5) is getting a slight lie-in during Eid.
From June 5 to June 14 (Dhul Hijjah 9 to 18), it will operate from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight daily. Normal early-bird service (starting at 6 a.m.) will resume on June 15.
Other Metro Lines are set to follow a phased schedule:
June 5: Trains start at 8 a.m.
June 6–8: Sleep in! Start time shifts to 10 a.m.
June 9–11: Back to 8 a.m.
June 12 onward: Regular schedule returns with a 6 a.m. start.
City buses will be in full swing during the festivities, operating daily from 5 a.m. to midnight between June 5 and June 12. Whether you’re heading to Eid prayers, family gatherings, or a festive shopping spree, Riyadh’s buses have you covered.
To meet increased holiday travel needs, on-demand bus services will also be available — perfect for when you need a quick and convenient ride without the wait.
Riyadh’s public transport authorities are urging commuters to stay updated by checking the Riyadh Transport app and following official channels for real-time updates throughout the holiday season.
