Riyadh Records The Highest Level Of Rainfall In The Kingdom

Riyadh recorded the highest rainfall in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, with 21mm of precipitation in Alqah, Zulfi governorate, according to the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture

The heavy showers marked the highest reading among six regions that experienced rainfall across the Kingdom.

A daily meteorological report from the ministry revealed that 52 hydrological and climate monitoring stations tracked the rainfall, covering Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Qassim, Eastern Region, and Al-Baha. In the Riyadh region, Rawdat Al-Sabla in Zulfi recorded 7.5mm, while Al-Rayyan district in Al-Dawadmi measured 7.1mm.

Other notable readings included Kharoub farms in Shaqra at 6mm, Al-Majmaah train station at 4.8mm, and Arja in Al-Dawadmi at 4.6mm.

Qassim also saw significant precipitation, with Dukhnah in Al-Rass measuring 11mm, Buraidah at 8.6mm, and Riyadh Al-Khabra at 8mm

In the Eastern Region, Al-Olaya metro station recorded 9.6mm, Khafji saw 9mm, and Jubail’s Naval Forces Airport reported 4.6mm.

Meanwhile, Makkah’s Saja Reserve received 9.2mm, while Raniah saw 2.2mm. In Madinah, Al-Hisu and Al-Hinakiyah each recorded 1.4mm, while Al-Baha’s Shada in Al-Makhwah saw light showers at 0.6mm.
