Riyadh Will Be Getting A Full-Size Champs Élysées-Like Boulevard

Avatar

You might not have to go to Paris to experience the Champs-Élysées, ‘cus Riyadh will be getting its very own version of it. They’re even bringing in French architects to build one just like it in Ad-Diriyah.

Local media reports that it will be called King Salman Boulevard.

Will there be an Arc de Triomphe like the one on the Champs-Élysées? Well, that’s not clear yet, but you can trust Riyadh to go OTT when it comes to mega-projects.

The place is set to mirror the grandeur of its French counterpart, boasting cultural attractions such as museums, the opulent Royal Diriyah Opera House, a mosque, a state-of-the-art convention centre, and a dynamic performance arena.

This is all part of the Diriyah Gate Projects, which include plans for 42 hotels, over 100 restaurants, and a staggering 30,000 residential properties by 2030!

The Diriyah Gate Projects are being built at a cost of $50 billion. By the end of it, Ad-Diriyah might just become not just the biggest tourist attraction in the country but in the entire GCC.
