Riyadh’s Getting A Swanky New Airport And It Will Have Its Own Dedicated Carrier Too

Avatar

A popular TV show called “In The Picture” on Rotana Khalijia Channel had the Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser as one of its recent guests. He did drop a lot of deets of the way transportation will be transformed in the country and he even hinted at a new airport for Riyadh in it.

In the interview he stated that National Strategy for Transport and Logistics aims to establish a new airport and a new national carrier in the capital city of Riyadh.
So yes, not just a brand new airport but a new national carrier too.

A report in the Bloomberg that was out last year also reported this from unnamed source, but this time we hear it from the minister himself.

You may wonder what about Saudi Airlines? Eng. Al-Jasser answered about it too as he said that the focus of Saudi Airlines will be on Jeddah.

He didn’t clarify on when this will take place but with the way things are moving here at breakneck speed don’t be surprised to see a fully functional massive airport within a few years’ time.

Twitter of course is super excited.

Speaking of new airports have you seen this super cool airport that’s in the works near Umluj?
