Starting his journey on December 15 from Umm Hadid, a famous meteorite impact site, Al-Shaibani walked for over 14 days before reaching his final destination at the stunning Umm Al-Hayesh Lake on December 29.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Al-Shaibani shared, “Crossing the Empty Quarter on foot is one of the most thrilling adventures I have ever done. I hope this journey inspires young Saudis to explore our country’s natural beauty and see its potential as a global tourist destination.”
Extreme weather conditions, including powerful sandstorms and scorching heat, tested his endurance, but Al-Shaibani remained steadfast.
Describing his experience, he said, “The desert’s beauty is matched only by its challenges. Being alone under the vast desert sky at night was a humbling and awe-inspiring experience.”
