Starting today, he will walk an impressive 600 kilometers from south to northeast, tackling the desert’s challenging terrain with the support of a logistics team. His journey, estimated to take 18 days, begins at the Umm Hadid mining site in the Afif region.
Badr aims to highlight the ecological importance of the Empty Quarter while documenting its unique natural and cultural landmarks. His trek also aligns with Vision 2030’s goals of promoting sustainable and culturally rich tourism, spotlighting Saudi Arabia’s deserts as captivating global destinations.
He hopes his journey will inspire young Saudis to embrace adventure and explore their potential by stepping out of their comfort zones. Reflecting on his excitement, he shared: “This is a special challenge because it’s in Saudi Arabia, and it’s a chance to show the beauty and significance of our desert.”
