Saudi Airlines Commemorated King Abdul Aziz’s First Flight In The Most Awesome Way

Avatar

On the 30th of September 1945, King Abdul Aziz flew from Afif to Hawiyah in a Douglas DC-3 aircraft. This aircraft was a gift by US President Franklin Roosevelt and became the national carrier’s first aircraft.

Saudi Airlines commemorated the 76th anniversary of the event in a way that will make you feel super nostalgic.

Passengers who flew from Riyadh to Taif had a bunch of surprises waiting for them.

First up, the boarding passes were issued just as they were back in the 80s and 90s.

There was a large statue of King Abdul Aziz installed in the departure hall of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.

Even the flight was decorated in the Saudia livery of the 70s and 80s.

Inside, there was a host of nationalistic songs that were played and all passengers were given a special gift.
