The Health Sector Transformation Program has just dropped some incredible news—2023 saw a jaw-dropping 54% drop in traffic accident fatalities!

What was previously 28.41 fatalities per 100,000 people in 2016, is now at just 13.6 fatalities per 100,000

But that’s not all, injuries from road accidents have also taken a dive, hitting 70.87 per 100,000 people, down from 74 in 2016. The good news doesn’t stop there. A whopping 77% of Saudi’s roads now meet top-notch safety standards, and 46% of vehicles are passing the latest inspection requirements with flying colors.

The World Health Organization gave a big thumbs-up to Saudi Arabia for this impressive achievement

The WHO was totally impressed by  the dramatic decrease in traffic fatalities over the past five years. Saudi has also been working round the clock, improving road engineering, upgrading safety measures, boosting traffic control, and even launching specialized medical centers and air ambulance services.

With these stellar improvements, Saudi Arabia is paving the way for safer roads and brighter days ahead!
