Saudi Arabia’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) has reassured citizens that the Kingdom’s environment remains safe despite rising tensions in the region. The commission confirmed that there have been no radiation leaks affecting Saudi Arabia.
لم يرصد أي آثار إشعاعية على بيئة المملكة، ودول الخليج العربية؛ نتيجة الاستهدافات العسكرية الأمريكية لمرافق إيران النووية.

Following the recent military strike on Iran’s Arak research reactor, the commission clarified early Friday that the attack has had no radiological impact, as the facility is currently free of nuclear fuel. The NRRC emphasized that it is continuously monitoring developments around the clock through its emergency operations center, actively assessing any potential nuclear fallout risks. Preventive measures are firmly in place to safeguard both the public and the environment from possible radiological effects.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s advanced desalination technologies are designed to filter out not only salinity but also any radioactive contaminants from seawater, ensuring that produced water remains safe for consumption.
The commission also highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s predictive radiological assessment capabilities extend beyond its borders to include neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Given the current situation, there is no need to activate national nuclear emergency response plans at this time.
Saudi Arabia continues to prioritize public safety and environmental protection by maintaining vigilant oversight and ready emergency preparedness amid evolving regional dynamics.
