According to Arab News, Saudi Arabia has just granted “Saudi green cards,” or premium residency, to 2,645 healthcare workers from 56 different countries! This exciting announcement came straight from Saudi Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel during the Global Health Forum in Riyadh.

These healthcare pros fall under the Special Talent Residency category, which comes with awesome perks

From visa-free stays (renewable every five years!) to sponsoring family members, and even owning real estate in Saudi Arabia, the benefits are IMPRESSIVE. They can also switch jobs freely, run businesses, issue visit visas for relatives, and breeze through airport immigration with special queues for Saudi and GCC citizens.

The move is all part of a larger plan to keep top talent in the Kingdom, especially doctors and specialists in key healthcare fields. These healthcare pros don’t just bring their expertise, but they also help boost knowledge-sharing with local Saudi professionals

The premium residency program is just one part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 initiative, introduced in 2019

This residency upgrade for healthcare workers also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to improve healthcare services and overall quality of life as part of the Health Sector Transformation Program. In fact, the Crown Prince recently praised the progress of this initiative in a cabinet session after reviewing the 2023 achievements report, showing that Saudi Arabia is really stepping up its game in the healthcare world!
