Saudi Foreign Ministry Condemns Recent Suicide Attack On Syrian Church

A suicide bombing at a Greek Orthodox church in Damascus on Sunday left at least 20 people dead and 52 others injured, according to Syria’s Health Ministry.

The horrific attack targeted Mar Elias Church in the Dweilaa area during a gathering of worshippers. Syria’s Ministry of Interior confirmed that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS.

The assailant reportedly opened fire on the congregation before detonating an explosive vest, causing mass casualties and widespread panic

In response, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry released a statement strongly condemning the brutal attack

The Kingdom reaffirmed its firm stance against all forms of terrorism and extremism, and rejected any actions that threaten the safety and stability of communities. The Foreign Ministry also expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, wishing a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.
