Saudi Hosts The Most Unique Camel Festivals That Gather Up Huge Numbers

Saudi Arabia’s annual camel festival welcomes thousands to admire some of the most stunning camels you’ve ever seen!

This spectacular event is a true ode to Saudi tradition, celebrating these majestic creatures with vibrant parades, thrilling competitions, and a sense of community that’s contagious. From elegant beauty contests to lively races, every moment is filled with excitement and pride for the rich heritage that camels represent in the Kingdom.

This year alone showcased around 15,000 camels in all their vibrant colors

 

Since September 19, 2024 camel owners have been battling it out across 36 exciting rounds at the festival, with 40 rounds total and a whopping SAR 20 million in prizes up for grabs. 

The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival hosted its 8th edition this past December

Picture this: a massive village designed for spectators, starting with the impressive Al-Mazayen Square, sprawling over an incredible 264,000 square meters! This bustling hub features 85 barns, a main area that accommodates 450 people, and exclusive VIP stands for 312 lucky guests.

And that’s just the beginning! There’s also a dedicated space of 5,760 square meters for visitor stands, fitting up to 6,000 chairs, ensuring everyone has a front-row seat to the action. Plus, with over 1 million square meters for the auction area, complete with 145 barns, registration offices, and a 5 km camel track connecting it all—this festival is a true celebration of culture and tradition.
