Saudi Inmates Earn Master’s Degrees While Serving Time

Through partnerships with universities like Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, the Saudi prison system offers distance learning and higher education to inmates as part of its rehabilitation efforts.

This isn’t a new idea in the Kingdom: previous programs have allowed prisoners to complete bachelor’s degrees in Islamic studies, business, and more, all helping them reform and reintegrate.

And these opportunities come with more than just knowledge….

In the past, inmates who completed degrees saw their sentences reduced by up to 15%

The ceremony wasn’t just about academics,  it was about hope, growth, and second chances. These graduates prove that when you give people the tools to learn, they can truly rebuild their lives,  no bars can stop ambition.
