At a recent virtual meeting, scientists announced plans to intensify excavation efforts at newly identified mustatil sites, especially in the Hail region, to uncover more about these mysterious formations.

The Heritage Commission’s CEO, Dr. Jasser Al-Harbash, emphasized the cultural and archaeological importance of mustatils, calling them a critical part of Saudi’s heritage

Dr. Al-Harbash also stressed the need to document and preserve these relics, which are found mostly in northwestern Saudi Arabia. The commission will collaborate with global experts to protect these ancient sites while shedding light on their historical significance.
