This initiative, reported by Pakistani state media on Friday, aims to cater to the diverse group of pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom for Hajj.
This year, around 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims are expected to participate, with approximately 70,000 traveling under the government scheme and the remainder with private tour operators. To enhance the pilgrimage experience, the health awareness campaign is prominently featured at key locations across Saudi Arabia.
The campaign utilizes dozens of smart display screens to announce important health messages at places such as Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, the Haramain High Speed Railway Station, shuttle buses, pilgrim reception centers, malls, and various health cluster facilities. The messages cover a range of topics, including the dangers of direct sun exposure, heat exhaustion, dehydration, food poisoning, first aid, personal hygiene, and other health issues. This initiative is designed to ensure that pilgrims are well-informed and can take necessary precautions to maintain their health during the pilgrimage.
As of now, more than 42,000 Pakistani pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia. About 390 assistants, including Pakistani civil and uniformed officers, are actively involved in managing their travel, accommodation, and ensuring the provision of quality food.
Additionally, over 150 officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs are stationed at key locations, including the Main Control Office, Madinah and Jeddah Airports, Lost and Found Department, Madinah Departure Cell, Monitoring Cell, and Accounts and Administration Departments, to facilitate the pilgrims’ journey.
