Saudi Officially Places Ban On Sharing Security Camera Footage

Hera Shabbir

Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry has confirmed that the law on security surveillance cameras bans sharing or publishing footage without proper approval.

You can only transfer or release recordings in specific conditions

These include either a green light from the ministry or State Security, or a court order or request from an investigation. Breaking this rule could land you with a fine of SR20,000 ($5,327). This also applies to anyone damaging or tampering with the cameras or their recordings.

The Interior Ministry recently made the announcement on their X account
