Saudi Arabia has unveiled ambitious plans to construct the King Salman Stadium by 2029, positioning it as one of the largest sports venues in the world

This state-of-the-art stadium will accommodate 92,000 seats and span over 660,000 square meters in Riyadh. The King Salman Stadium will not only offer extensive sports facilities but will also feature commercial centers and recreational areas, making it a versatile destination for visitors of all ages. The main stadium will include a royal box with 150 seats, 120 hospitality suites, 300 VIP seats, and 2,200 seats for dignitaries.

Advanced sustainable cooling systems will ensure comfort for both spectators and players. Additionally, the stadium will be equipped with numerous screens around its upper interior to enhance the viewing experience. Visitors can also enjoy internal gardens and a rooftop walking track with a spectacular view of King Abdulaziz Park.

It will also be in a strategic location, close to Riyadh’s main areas

Strategically located in the northern part of Riyadh on King Salman Road, adjacent to King Abdulaziz Park, the stadium will benefit from its proximity to key city locations such as King Khalid International Airport. It will be well-connected to Riyadh’s train station and major road networks, ensuring easy access from all parts of the city.

The comprehensive master plan includes several surrounding sports facilities over an area exceeding 360,000 square meters, featuring two auxiliary training fields, fan zones, an indoor sports hall, an Olympic swimming pool, and an athletics track. Outdoor courts for volleyball, basketball, and padel will also be available, connected by a 9-kilometer sports trail around King Abdulaziz Park.

The design emphasizes sustainability and excellence

Designed by six international companies, the final design of the stadium meets FIFA’s requirements and emphasizes sustainability and architectural excellence. Inspired by the concept of mountainous terrain, the stadium will integrate seamlessly with King Abdulaziz Park through a valley intersecting the green spaces.

Featuring green walls and roofs spanning over 96,500 square meters, the design reflects local architectural styles and adheres to environmental sustainability standards.

Set to enhance the quality of life in Riyadh, King Salman Stadium will host major local and international events, establishing Riyadh as a global sports and cultural hub.
